Picture Frame Project

While I was on maternity leave last year, Nate Berkus still had his show on television. It became a staple on our DVR and I’d watch it over feedings or during those nights that I just couldn’t fall back to sleep. One of the projects that I tried was using wrapping paper to add a colorful mat to any frame. It was perfect – cheap, easy and somewhat fool proof (again, I’m not particularly “crafty”). After having my daughter, I really wanted white frames with pink mats for her room, but I couldn’t find them anywhere for the price I wanted to pay. After seeing this idea on the Nate Show, I gave it a try. I picked up frames from Ikea and cute pink and white polka dot wrapping paper from The Container Store (it’s a little more expensive, but they have such cute patterns and a little better quality). Then I just wrapped the mats and added black and white pictures.

The nice thing is that as we change her room, it will be easy to change the mats accordingly with the color scheme. Gotta love that!
