Seriously, who cares about their linen closet? I can honestly say that in my life pre-Pinterest, I hadn’t given it a second thought. Really, I was just happy to have a linen closet when we moved onto Hillside Lane. But then I saw this…
…and I have coveted a beautiful linen closet ever since. So ridiculous, I realize; but one of my resolutions for 2015 was to declutter and the linen closet was in desperate need.
The thing with achieving a linen closet that even remotely resembles this is that it costs money for all the baskets and tags. And at the end of the day, who wants to spend any money on a linen closet?! Not me. But then I happened upon a set of six wooden boxes on one of the yard sale sites that I follow. They were light pink and purple but they had potential written all over them (and another opportunity to fuel my spray painting addiction). I bought them with the intention of using them for toys, but in a moment of divine inspiration, realized that these new-to-me boxes could make my linen-closet-dreams come true.
I meant to take “before” pictures, but in my haste/excitement to get this done I forgot. Consider yourself spared.
With some warm days finally here, I broke out my spray paint cans and got to work. It HARDLY qualifies as Pinterest worthy, but my little OCD/Type-A heart smiles each time I open the closet.
I laugh when I consider where all the kids’ stuff will go when they are a bit older. Oh well. I’ll enjoy this while I can. Thank you, Pinterest for the much needed motivation.
