Hydrangea Row

Hydrangea Row made some big gains this summer. We now have 8 hydrangeas planted across the back of our yard. They are small, but (I am hoping) mighty!

In an effort to help them grow and create the beginning of a more finished look in the backyard, we had a large bed dug out and then mulched.

Who doesn’t love a good before and after (and a few progress shots along the way)?

May 2011…where it all began

July 2012…still trying to grow grass

June 2013….the first of Hydrangea Row is planted

August 2015

May 2016…added lanterns and the final hydrangeas

August 2016

Hopefully in another five years (or preferably sooner) we’ll be enjoying a Hydrangea Row that looks more like my original inspiration from my cousin’s Louisville home…

But in the meantime we are soaking in these last days of summer content with the progress so far. Cheers to that!
